Closing presentation of DOT project

On Monday, 9th July 2012 at 11:00 am in the PR Centre in Podgorica, a closing presentation of IPA cross-border project „Business Cooperation and Skills Improvement for the Development of Outdoor Tourism” (DOT) was organized.

In addition to project partners, this event was attended by officials of the Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro, UNDP office in Montenegro, GIZ- Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (German Society for International Cooperation) and representatives of the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism of Montenegro, National Tourism Organization of Montenegro, Montenegrin Mountain Rescue Service, Mountaineering Association of Montenegro, mountaineering clubs, travel agencies, NGOs and other guests, who have taken this opportunity to learn more about the implemented project activities and achieved results.

Representatives of partners’ organizations (NGO Centre for Sustainable Tourism Initiatives, Croatian Mountain Rescue Service, NGO the Sun and UNDP Montenegro) presented project activities and achieved results through three sets of activities

·        Capacity building of mountain rescue services and guiding services

·         Improvements of small tourism infrastructure

·         Promotion and business cooperation between cross border tourism sectors                  

During the 18 months of project implementation, quality of  the outdoor tourism products and the coastal cross-border tourism destination between Montenegro and Croatia has been increased. With realization of project activities through joint planning and business cooperation in the sector of outdoor tourism, knowledge is transfered, infrastructural and technical capacities of both tourism destinations are strenghtened and a benchmark for the development of outdoor tourism is created.
