On Friday, 29th of June, on the Srdj hill above Dubrovnik, the Joint Exercise and the Signing Ceremony between mountain rescue services of Montenegro and Croatia was organized. Memorandum of Understanding was signed by presidents of mountain rescue service (MRS) Zeljko Loncovic from Montenegro and Vinko Prizmic from Croatia.
This exercise was demonstrated by 30 specially equipped MRS staff (15 from Croatia and 15 from Montenegro) in order to present gained skills from rescue trainings which were organized during the implementation of the project „Business Cooperation and Skills Improvement for the Development of Outdoor Tourism“.
Joint exercise is the last project activity involved in a training program aiming to improve operational capacities of MRS-s of both countries. Within this program (capacity building of MRS in Montenegro and Croatia) the following trainings were provided: ITLS (International Trauma Life Support), GIS (Geographical Information Systems), SWR (Swift Water Rescue Actions), Winter Rescue Actions, Cave Rescue Actions out of which 80 participants were licensed.
Beside increased knowledge and operational capacity, it was also improved technical capacities of mountain rescue services (MRS) thus insuring increased visitor security. In line with this objective, MRS-s in Montenegro and Croatia are delivered with rescue equipment in total value of 55.432,40 EUR.
