Closing presentation of ‘Re-discovering Cultural Treasures of Old Royal Montenegro’ Project

 

The official closing presentation of the project titled ‘Re-discovering Cultural Treasures of Old Royal Montenegro' within the IPA 2007 Support to Civil Society Programme for Montenegro was held in Podgorica, at PR Center, on Wednesday 29th June 2011, at 11.00 am. 

This event was attended by the representatives of the Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro, GIZ- Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (German Society for International Cooperation), Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism of Montenegro, hosts-beneficiaries of this project, tourist agencies, media representatives and many other guests, who have taken this opportunity to learn more about the implemented project activities and realized goals.

This project is based on the successful European experiences and strategies in regards to sustainable development, which valorise diverse of natural, historical and cultural heritage.

During the eighteen-month project implementation, the thematic route is created as the new agrotouristic product, which connects the interesting historical places of the old medieval Montenegro and its gastronomic heritage. Furthermore, special type of the touristic signalisation is designed and installed to ensure better accessibility to some of the most attractive ethnological and gastronomic sites in the central region of Montenegro.

This project gave abetment to improving activities of small entrepreneurs. The presentation also resulted in introducing tourist offer of 12 individual households from the Old Montenegro.
